Vlkolínec
Excursion to the UNESCO monument
Vlkolínec is one of the jewels of Liptov. It is only a little over 45 minutes' walk (approx. 2 km) from the exit station of the cable car on Malino Brdo. It is located at an altitude of 718 m.a.s.l. In 1977, it was declared a Monument Reserve of Folk Architecture, and in 1993 it was included in the UNESCO list of national cultural monuments. When visiting Vlkolínec, don't miss the wooden bell tower, the rumple well or the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. Vlkolínec is unique not only in its architecture, but also in the fact that it is a populated wooden settlement.
Our tip: try traditional specialties directly in the Vlkolínec restaurant or on the way back, refresh yourself at Malina in the Aprés-ski bar or visit the restaurant of the Malina hotel.
